Zesto® Frozen Custard stores were a nationally operating franchise in the 1940's. Using ZEST-O-MAT freezers, Zesto opened over 50 stores across the country. The parent company, Zesto Products Dairy, Inc., closed in the early 50's and each Zesto store became independently owned. In the 1980's, Tony Mayo & Walter Hallman worked at the Zesto in Triangle City in West Columbia, SC. In 1994, with the knowledge they had gained in Triangle City and the strong work ethic they learned from their parents and Gus Manos, they bought the existing Zesto on Forest Drive. ( More...)
